Personal Life
Though the central focus of my life is pretty much always on teaching, I have a great many other interests. My family is very important to me, starting with my husband Zac, who is a graduate student at WVU in the mathematics department. We have four nephews - Samuel is 1 year old, Ayden is 4 years old, and twins Garrett and Bryson are 7 years old. We can be found many weekends traveling to see these wild boys. Our family is spread all across West Virginia, from Petersburg in the eastern panhandle, to Weirton in the northern panhandle, to Greenbrier County in the southeastern region, and to our own hometown of Charleston. All of our travels around the state also revolve around seeing different state parks, trying new restaurants, and fishing in (Zac) and reading on the banks of (me) the many creeks found in the mountains. The number of books I have read in my life is astronomical, and I continue to use it as my preferred way of relaxing. I often destress by watching TV shows on Netflix, anything from Scandal to Psych to One Tree Hill to Once Upon a Time. When I have the time and space, I also enjoy crafts such as scrapbooking and sewing, and I'm trying to learn to cook more. My favorite foods are burgers, pizza, pasta, and chips, and I'll never turn down ice cream. I love shopping and finding great deals, and you'll rarely see me without my nails painted. You might think I'm quiet when you first meet me, but once you get me talking on any of these topics, you'll change your mind and wish you didn't. (:
