Attendance
Attendance was not nearly as high as I had hoped, but one can't expect college students to attend something that is not mandatory, especially when the weather is very bad during the winter months. Overall, I impacted 15 students over the course of 8 weeks, with anywhere from 2 to 9 students each week. Learning
On the surveys given at the end of each workshop night, participants were asked to gauge their knowledge of apps and resources before the evening on a scale of 0-4, where 0 was "Never heard of it" and 4 was "I've used it many times." Participants were then asked to report their understanding and knowledge of the apps and resources after instruction, again on a scale from 0-4, with 0 being "I'm totally lost" and 4 being "I'm ready to use all of the tools." Apps were rated individually, and then scores were averaged for each evening. As noted in the graph, most students had not heard of many of the resources discussed, and by the end of the evening, many felt comfortable enough with the tools to begin to use them in their classrooms. |
Usefulness
Participants were also asked how useful they deemed particular features and apps for their future classrooms. Apps were again rated individually, and scores were averaged for each evening. As shown on the graph, most students found all apps fairly valuable in terms of what they would like to use in their classrooms. |
